Linux for Palm Inc:s Tungsten T3 and LifeDrive PDA’s is almost done!

According to hack&Dev, Familiar already boots on both handhelds. While there are no prc files for end users yet, it really looks as if we may be rolling very soon!

  1. And what is with Treo 650?
Who needs this for T3 or Livedrive?

    Treo is the future! :)

  2. Well, I’d have to disagree. Treos are HUGE phones…and their screens are too small to be good Palms.

  3. I think there is Linux for almost all Palm handhelds with Palm OS > 5.0 : T|T3, T|T2, T|E, LifeDrive, Treo 650, … And what about my poor Tungsten C ;) ?

I think it’s a good idea. Think of all the great apps…

  4. 1. There are already some prc to try. However, it is in a deep development stage, so not so interesting for regular (even advanced) users.

    2. Treo 650 port is developed. Check http://www.grack.com

  5. Trying the LifeDrive port on my Zire72 (with a sligh modification to Garux so it doesn’t whine about not being compatible), locks up here:

    Machine: Unknown (-1)
    Loading kernel… at 0x18c3f08
    Joining kernel chunks…………
    …………………….
    …….OK
    Running assembly loader…

And then it just stops. It’s been sitting there for at least five minutes. Looks like that whiney little dialog is there for a reason :P

  6. T3 port on my C (MakeMeTungsten) crashes with a Fatal Exception when joining kernel chunks…

  7. Hi,
I didn’t try out the whole thing yet, I am sorry, but I lack the Linux knowledge.
If I ever get it working, I will inform you all ASAP. If anyone iof you is successful, share your story with us here or by sending it to Tamog@gmx.at!
    Best regards
    Tam Hanna
