Recently, quite a few people reported about incompatibilities between their E2 and some popular open-source apps! Since such a machine is available, here are a few test reports:

FileZ
Version 6.8.3 works on my E2 well! Nothing to add here…

OnBoardC suite
Many people accused SrcEdit as beeing unreliable. And indeed, the 5way didn’t work. However, the whole 2.5.1 suite made no problems. Editing and compiling worked well, altough the components started a bit slowly…

PalmPDF
Version 1.0rc2 was not able to fully zoom in on a 30MEG PDF document in greyscale mode. However, the E2 has limited dynamic memory, so that may be the source of the problems. Smaller zoom levels were no problem, and Palm PDF didn’t crash(just displayed Restarting…please wait).

SiED
SiED 0.9.11 is a popular text editor-and it makes no difference that it is considered to be discontinued. It works well on a TE2!

Overall, most of these apps work fine(for me). If you have access to the email addresses of the authors, please send them this link. Thank you!

Danke!
