Recently I saw an old article (2003) at PalmInfoCenter. They wrote “SoftMaker did confirm a Palm OS version is in the works, and is reported to be making “good progress”, but does not have a release date at this time”. Then, nothing happened – for two years now.
I think that TextMaker would be the best word processor for Palm OS. According to PalmInfoCenter/Softmaker it supports TrueType fonts, native reading and writing of MS Word, RTF and HTML files, images, drawings, tables, frames, forms, etc. And it would be the first word processor for Palm OS with DTP (desktop publishing) capabilities (but can we say ‘desktop’ here
?)! Just have a look at the screenshot:

So many of you should have an interest of a Palm OS version of TextMaker.
I used Google and found a poll running at SoftMaker’s homepage. There you can submit on which platform you would like to see TextMaker. So, if you are interested in TextMaker, please, vote for PalmOS !!!

I’m using TextMaker and PlanMaker for WIndows CE.NET 4.2 (netBook Pro ). These two products are trully fantastic software masterpieces.
I’m still waiting for PalmOS versions of these gems!
They have in the meantime released a Zaurus version… but hey aren’t there more Palm folks than Zaurus?
I suspect that SoftMaker thinks that DataViz’s Docs to Go has robbed the market from them already… but they are wrong! DTG sucks… poor support for layouting etc… TextMaker would be significant better! PlanMaker would beat easily Sheet To Go or Mobile Systems’ spreadsheet or TinySheet.
QuickOffice sucks even more…
I agree with you. Their products are much better than DataViz’ ones. MobiSystems Word is better than DocsToGo but has no enhanced features, such as drawing capabilites.

Hi,
I personally have to say that I am pretty impressed by how solid MobiSystems OfficeSuite performed! The formatrting of documents comes over very well if you have enough fonts installed on your box…
