Action games for the Palm OS ar rather rare. AstraWare’s My Little Tank is a 2d-platformer where you drive a little tank around in various missions!
After the game starts up, one immedietaly notes how lively the game environment is. You fight in swamps, deserts, icy worlds, cities…:

The objects on the environment all have a “life” of their own. For example, buildiungs, walls and radar stations can be destroyed:

Various power-ups lay around in the levels. They can give you invulnerability, better we”ns, more health, more speed, freeze or kill your enemies,…:

Enemy tanks come in many variations. They differ in firepower and health:

Visually, this game is a sight to love. Beautiful explosions, sparkles, smoke effects, warp bubbles,.. put your handheld”s CPU under full load:

The game also has background music and real sound effects. Controls are very simple, left-right-up-down-fire is all you need.
The AI can go bonkers at times, the game is not really difficult. You will play for three basic mission objectives in different combinations:
- Destroy enemy tanks
- Destroy enemy buildings
- Protect your base
The game requires 4300k of RAM to run. In addition, it permanentely gobbles up 1600k.
Overall, this game is great fun. Altough the basic ideas are primitive, the well-designed graphics and the funky, action-packed gameplay will keep you playing. That is, unless the huge amount of RAM will keep you from running it…

I don’t think it’s the best game of Astraware… Sounds are too load (and with 8% volume the background music switches off…), and the game becomes boring after the 3rd mission… Then all are the same except that there are more tanks at every map. The maps are quite nice indeed.
Hi,
the missions are indeed repetitive… . But I had fun for at least 10 levels;).
Did you email AstraWare about the bugs?
Best regards

Sounds are not load, but loud, sorry

Not yet, but I surely will
Hi,
actually, there is a slight chance that AstraWare finds out on their own. I already sent a link to the posts to my contact there!
Best regards and thanks for talking back
