Ever since I had my E2, I was interested in comparing the two units. I was out with one of my testers at the local burger king’s-and here is what we found out.

The Tungsten T5 has a longer stylus than the E2. My friend uses a replacement stylus, the huge plastic area is there because a head change makes the stylus compatible with the E2:

Styli can be exchanged if one really needs to, but it doesnt really look well:

Mechanically, the units are pretty similar. The T5 is a bit longer, and that is all the difference one can see with the free eye. However, some T5 peripherals like the Brando cradle need a bit of work to make them work on the E2 which has a “fatter” bottom:

Overall, what can I say? The T5 and E2 look very compoatible-but they are definitely not. You may be able to recycle your headphones and your stylus-but thats it. How did you fare?

  1. The T5 is abit longer than TE2 because T5 has the blue status bar, thus making the screen slightly larger.

  2. Hi DK,
    thats a good point.

However, the size difference is too big imho(the blue status bar is too thin imho).

    Best regards
