Making a customer go bonkers rarely is a good idea-especially if it is a nonsensical reason. Acer DOA’d on my notebook, ok, but I trust the guy at the phone that he really couldn’t do anything. But Blizzard really shot the bird off the tree with a World of Warcraft player!
Closing down somebody’s account is fine, but not in the way Blizzard handlerd this case. In factm, they even suppressed a friend of the user who asked about the ban on a forum. While such an approach may work on “scumbags”, it clearly was the wrong way here because it really looks like the player was not cheating.
