Most of you will probably still remember tejpWriter, the Palm OS text editor we had an exclusive alpha of a few weeks ago. We also demoed its innovative toolbar on TamsPalm, but didn’t have permission to upload a beta back then.
Peter Thorstenson now fixed the bug we had with saving in the root directory of a memory card, and also added a load of new features! I am very thankful, as he allowed us to post a beta once again!
So, if you want an editor that has:
- Ultra low CPU cycle consumption
- Blazing fast speed
- Suport for DOS and Unix files
- A Thumbboard
- Skin support
- A genious UI
Then go for TejpWriter:

Thanks for the link! I collect text editors, and probably have a hundred or so for DOS/Windows/Unix/, and about half a dozen for PalmOS.
The big issue with the previous version of tejpWriter was that it didn’t support the full 320×480 screen on my Tapwave Zodiac 2. This version does, and does a lot more besides. I’m impressed.
I have to test things like how well it works with my Palm wireless keyboard, but thus far this is very promising.
It was very nice to hear that tW seems to work on your Tapwave Zodiac 2. I’d be delighted if
you could mail me a short report after you tested it more, so that I can put it on the list of PDAs it’s tested on. Please, use the email in tWs about window.
Thanks!
When I’ve had a chance to play a bit more, I shall. Thanks for a lovely piece of software!
Hi,
it is great to see how TamsPalm helps authors and users get together;).
