A friend of mine recently asked me about what the slogan All your base are belong to us means. Um, all your base are belong to us means, um,. just that actually;-).
It is a phrase that comes from a wrong translation of Zero Wing’s(a popular game) intro. It caught on like wildfire back in 2001 and is nowadays used in many different ways. For example, after finding a final bug in a program that was otherwise considered golden, a tester may screech All your base are belong to us.
The game contained a few extra quotes that are sometimes mentioned along “AYB”-they are:
- Move every zig
- Someone set up us the bomb
- For greater justice
Literally hundreds of photos were created that contained the slogan, and AYB basically took over the internet-
