Three years later, and the same problem on my Palm Tx. DocsToGo was not delivered with with the device but I bought it and installed it myself. Now since I don't need it any longer, after uninstalling it (and manually removing lots of files left over by the uninstall), still the files Documents and DocToGo remain in ROM (how did they get there?) and I can't get rid of them. I used their tool dataviztech.prc, too, which didn't help either. Crap!

Try JackSprat and JackFlash

The first app lets you delete apps from ROM (no more unwanted app after hard reset), the second is a complement to the first, it lets you use the now free ROM space as you wish...
hope this info helps...

Hi Luis,
what do you mean with removing from ROM?

Getting DocsToGo off for good is impossible imho, it will always come back to your Palm OS handheld after a hard reset...

Best regards

DataVizTech.prc can't remove the app documents and five more for languages that DataViz installs on ROM, the prc ONLY remove DocumentsToGo from RAM, anyone knows another way to remove DocumentsToGo and extras from ROM?

Hi,
first of all-wow, what a fulminant first article! Thanks to all the commentators for making this thread a wealth of information.

Anyways, on to sth more substantial aka my oppinion :-). Basically, we are in a difficult situation here, as on the one side, you wish to have as much RAM available as possible. On the other hand however, you need to keep one thing in mind: the famous outofbox wow effect. Every app burnt into the ROM of a handheld increases the effect, which leads to higher sales in stores, etc..

Best regards
Tam Hanna

P.s. I also like OfficeSuite, but to be honest, I use tejpWriter most for reviewing nowadays...

:-) Thanks, sredlums. I think you helped me get the right perspective of it all. It As I said before, I think DataVizTech works fine. The problem was that I had no way of knowing that this app existed. I could not install DTG in my PC, because I don't have any. And I could not enter DTG's site because I needed a reg code, which I only can get if I have a PC. It all comes down to having a PC. Maybe this is what makes me irritated. I know I am in minority, and I know it's something I have to live with.
The reason why I wrote this piece was to have this discussion., to hear what you out there really think, so that I, and maybe others can learn from it. After all, learning is what life is all about. Thank you all!
