People love opensource software, and sometimes, they have a spare toaster standing around that needs to be “recycled” somehow.

At DefCon 9, a person named Shrdlu brought a PC contained in a toaster. The toaster didn’t work anymore, but the Pentium MMX board booted Slackware Linux alright(and prolly also could have run Windows 95):

2005, Technologic Systems, a manufacturer of single board computers, felt like attempting the toaster again-but this time, the machine was intended to serve web pages AND toast bread:
