David Weiss, a Microsoft Mac Business Unit employee, has a pretty interesting blog(pluckered every day). Recently, he wrote on how the booth that Microsoft hat at this year’s MacWorld was one of the most successful ever!

Basically, the booth was very well-designed. For example, it was subsdivided into differently-colored areas, and each of the areas covered a different topic. Since the experts were dressed in the color of the topic, forwarding people was easy.

Another very interesting thing is the presence of real users. So, users could walk up to other fellow users and ask them for an oppinion, etc!

Did you ever have to manage a booth at a trade show/big user meeting/whatever?

  1. At first, I thought it was odd that Microsoft would have a booth at MacWorld. Then again, they do have some products for macintosh- office, primarily. I guess I’m just suprised that Apple lets them- they run it, right? Though, would barring them be unfair business practices?

  2. Hi,
IMHO, Apple is very happy to have Microsoft provide them with a rock-solid email client, among other things.

They would be stupid to kick MSFT’s ass – that would leave them without Office support,… – a situation very undesirable for most Mac users…

  3. Some attendees are ready to make purchases at the show and others will collect information and make their purchases at a later date. Provide your potential customers with a comfortable atmosphere in which to shop or look over the material being offered.
