Most of us know Java MIDP. It is the environment that IBM WebSphere “emulates” on the Palm OS, that runs on various mobile “dumb”phones, etc. Anyways, Motorola recently aqnnounced version 3 of the environment.

The new version is said to be opensourced-this should simplify and speed up “standardization” among handset manufacturers. In addition, Motorola has created a “test suiter” to verify implementation compatibility. So, maybe, a java game that runs on a RAZR will run on a non-motorola box, too!
