When Palm OS handhelds transfer calendar and contact data, they use two very popular industriy standard formats: VCard and vCalendar/iCalendar files.

After a long and heated discussion with an IT professor at my school, here are the official standards for vCard and vCal files:

WikiPedia has a bit of information on the history of the files:

You may not need it right now, but knowing those links will for sure be helpful in the future! Do you use the formats much?
