How do you set up the Palm T/X to hotsync with Bluetooth on a laptop running Vista? I’ve been 100% unsuccessful with hotsyncing my new Palm T/X with my laptop (Vista). Should I scrap the effort and just reload my palm to hotsync with my desktop running XP?

My Palm Desktop on Vista JUST stopped working today. I set compatibility mode *and* run as adminstrator in properties and that seemed to fix it (or at least help it limp along!).

I ran the actual setup file (version 4.1.4e) in compatibility mode for WinXP SP2 and it worked flawlessly. Doing this also automatically sets up all the executables to run as WinXP too.

Thank God I found this… seems so simple duh! This info was more useful to me than the Palm website. Just changed the compatibility mode and now it works on my Vista… *sigh* Vista. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I have found that I can open Palm desktop in Vista if “User Account Control” is turned on. If UAC is turned off, Palm hangs at the splash screen. This is very frustrating. I much prefer to work with UAC turned off because I experience far few problems with other applications.

OK. I found the answer to my ? at the palm website:

Palm Desktop software will install on Windows Vista and will synchronize PIM (Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos).

I’m planning to upgrade the XP media center edition 2005 with Vista. Will palm desktop 4.1 work ok on Vista?. I sync palm with palm desktop only (no outlook or any other mail app).

It worked after first install, but would not even start afterward,just hangs on the splash screen. Hotsync is still work. Oh, I am running on XP Pro with SP2. The other question is that I am running the same OS has no such issue. Does the Outlook make all the difference ? Does anyone have a solution for it ?

Don’t use palm desktop with Vista or Office 2007. Use chapura. Worked on 3 pc’s in a row:>

can’t get my treo 700p, palm desktop, vista RC1, and outlook 2003 working. i can get through the hotsync but no PIM data transfers. gives me these errors for each PIM set (contacts, calendar, etc):
