After the “death” of the Fossil WristPDA(that Palm OS powered watch, WristPDA review), many analysts said that mobile phones have successfully eliminated the need for PDA style watches.
However, Citizen Watch just announced a few watches that “dock onto” the cell phone via bluetooth and then signal incoming calls and text messages. The company claims that those machines will be especially useful for people who have their mobile phones in silent mode.
If you ask me though, this is not a product to get heavily excited about. Most of us permanentely have their mobile phones in their trouser pocket(theft happens nowdays =) ). And if you have a phone in the trouser pocket, usually the vibrating alarm works just fine!
What do you think?

For me, this could be a useful item. I’ve noticed that more often then not, I tend to miss incoming calls or messages due to the fact that my Treo is on my PC or in my shirtpocket, from where I cannot feel the vibrating alarm and the sound is muffled.
And as I’m working for a radio-station, full sound alarms are prohibited by the management (and rightfully so, I think) because they can disturb a broadcast. So, maybe this can be usefull. But as I already own a Fossil WristPDA, I don’t think I will be buying this one…
I don’t use a mobile phone. So ï’m very happy to have a wrist PDA, if it would only be waterproof…..
No use at all for this item.
Hi,
same feelings here…if my WristPDA only had an OLED screen…
