After our Linux on Tungsten T3 review, a few readers asked if Linux runs on their devices.

This table contains a list of all supported machines where Linux currently runs, is beeing ported to, etc:

Interestingly, almost every HiRes capable Palm OS handheld has a port for it; however, none of the Sonys is currently showing any real progress.

  3. It is no surprise, that there is no linux for clie devices. Hack and Dev developers need as much info about hardware as possible. There is a lot of specification about Intel xScale proccessors and all this stuff. Also, about card bridge, bluetooth chip and so on. Only this info makes linux on palm possible. But sony never told anythink about their hardware. Ok, we know, that the speed of the HHE proccessor can vary from 8 to 128 MHz (or somethink like this) but it’s all. The same about wi-fi chip, used memory chips, bluetooth chips and so on.

Well, this is the reason for no linux port for Clie

  7. Caution … my Palm t3 don’t turn on after I’ve installed Garux and let it on without ending the loading process. When I arrived two hours after more or less, the hand held was very warm and off. I put it on the base but don’t seem to turn on, only the green light is on. I tried i hard reset, and disconnect the battery pin, but nothing occurs, only when i disconnectand connect the pin, the visor make a white light and turn black. I will wait since the battery are full charged and …

    Any suggestion is welcome, thanks
