Probably one of the reasons why I actually hardly ever use instant messengers. I find them quite distracting, because most of the time I'm writing or busy doing something. Email, for me works better. Most times, emails don't take very long to arrive either way. And only if I need immediate response after conversing via email will I fire up the IM clients. But that's just me. Great article.
