If the brand is so well known, why would you need to advertise it? And if it isn't, the ad is useless. It means nothing to me anyway.

I do like the simplicity of it though :)

But yeah, no clue what it is for.

In that context I totally agree with you,

that advertisement is pointless and confusing!

Hi,
but the problem is that this ad is 5 to 10km away from the bar. In fact, the bar is in a different village...

Best regards

Hi guys, not necessarilly.

Ads like this work, but ONLY if the public already know the brand being promoted. In this case the ad. is simply trying to keep the brand in the public eye.

Best example I can think of is the Nike 'swoosh' symbol and the words 'Just do it'. in this ad. Nike is never mentioned.

Shssh, I'm an engineer, I can't believe I wrote that marketting crap!

I'll agree. If I was just visiting I would think one of the two things:

1. This would be the sign for the building directly behind it.

2. The people that placed this ad must have done the garden work for the surrounding shrubbery (I am assuming that there are plants around).

As you said, this ad is useless. I would never have guessed what it was really representing.
