Now that the developer day is over, we finally get some news on the official Palm OS successor ALP. The PalmInfoCenter has a hands-on report by David Beers, who, however, wasn’t able to photograph the handsets:

David Beers descrtbes thre ALP experience to be good – apperently, ALP is an “integrator” platform that hides away the differences between the API’s as good as it can(even though I think that they MUST remove the Palm orb as it introduces a LifeDrive-like delay).

Donald Kirker has a few shots and a story on his blog, too:

In the OnBoardC user list, people have received a success report saying that mot of the suite runs well(except for SrcEdit). However, porting Linux applications is said to be difficult due to lack of MMU and fork() support – I couldn’t find any of this online anywhere else, so be careful.

Last but not least, PalmSource has a few pics of their booth:

As of now, I am not sure what to make of this. It doesnt look too bad, but if no big handset manufacturers pick this up, cya. Still gotta think a bit… .

What about telling us how you feel?
