I explicitly checked with Katrina…this time, its a true magnesium case
Palm hard cases made of metal always were built out of aluminium so far-Proporta now offers magnesium cases from InnoPocket for selected mobile devices like my Treo 600. While the weight loss doesn’t really affect me, this is still one of the best(and coolest) cases I ever reviewed…
The Magnesium hard case for Treo 600 didn’t arrive in a blister. Instead, it was packed into a few layers of plastic:
On its inside, there was a belt clip. Additionally, ‘protector foils’ were glued onto the front window of the case.
When I saw the magnesium case the first time, the color reminded me of my long-gone Tungsten T. The gun-metal blue finish is impressive, the case itself looks futuristic and stylish(for my taste, but hey, I’m a suit):
The lid mechanism looks very nice too, however, it doesn’t flip fully to the back(and the stability is debatable):
Inserting the Treo 600 into the case works very smoothly. The Treo gets pushed in from the top, removing it is just as easy. There’s no need to be afraid of scratching here!
The top and bottom of the Treo remain fully accessible while the smartphone is in the magnesium case:
The volume buttons can be accessed easily even with the handheld still in the case:
In the back of the magnesium case you have a cutout for everything thatreo600propmagnet’s important. The camera has free view, the reset hole is accessiblle and the speaker isn’t distorted(my Treo 600 is my ‘jukebox’).
The front cutouts were a bit large for my Treo. The window is useful, but accumulates scratches incredibly fast because of the extremely transparent matereal.
The card holder at the back is difficult to rate. It is very stylish, but I am not sure if it prorects the cards well enough. Nevertheless, having space for two SD cards is great - more music for the jukebox aka Treo 600:
The LED isn’t visible from the top-you need to look at the case sideways to see it.
This magnesium case fits a Treo 650 too - so if you want to upgrade, the case follows along.
When typing, the case is slightly in the way - however, typing with it is still comfortable:
Overall, this case is the coolest case around for an already stylish device. It has no major weakpoint and protects the Treo 600 well while keeping its functions accessible. The price of 44.95$ is a bit higher than usual, but if you want a really good case that attracts looks at the next meeting or party, this is the perfect case. I can definitely reccommend it!!

That’s a pretty Cobalt-this launcher.
Hi,
I wondered about it, too…
Best regards
