Resco is a Palm OS company with truly astonishing programs – their image viewer RescoViewer recently scored top marks in a TamsPalm review. Resco Neews was just released and also looks great, and so do their other apps. Anyways, so far so good – when I found out that they are in Bratislava(I am in Vienna), a visit was quickly arranged. Here is what I saw!

First impressions
I was picked up by the head of the Palm division, Jan Slodicka. He is currently using a Palm Treo 650, and here is a photo of him behind is development box(nobody there uses a dual screen machine btw):

Here are a few of the awards that the PocketPC division won – once again, Jan and Alenka Sporinová in front of a few of them:

The Resco folks also have a cool library of programming related books – reminds me of my own. However, neither of us seems to have any Palm OS books…

I felt myself really well in the Palm OS developer’s ‘war room’ – loads of drinks and even a Treo mouse pad:

Let’s close the first impressions with a snapshot of a few of Resco’s test handhelds – I was especially impressed by the Clie!

Overall, beeing a developer at Resco’s seems to be a cool job…you could think that our report ends here. But TamsPalm dug MUCH deeper – tune in soon for information on what Resco thinks about which platform, their outlook on the future and – last but not least, for the first time ever, Palm OS vs Symbian vs PocketPC sales comparison!
