According to PalmInfoCenter, Sling Media today announced a Palm OS version of their SlingPlayer. The program will support only the Palm Treo 700p according to the announcements, with other handhelds and smartphones not beeing mentioned.

For all of you new to the Sling idea, a SlingPlayer connects to a so-called SlingBox. The SlingBox is connected to a TV and records TV shows, which it then encodes and makes available on its network server for viewing.

Has anyone of you got a SlingBox?

  1. I like the concept. would be nice when (and if) the palmos version is released to get it working on my T3.

We’ve been thinking about getting one to install at my parents-in-law. (hard to get current american shows in europe, at least with my cable provider).

  2. Try TVU Player its free and has at least some of American channels on it (i use it for comedy central at the office ;-) )
