Qool was a very interesting Palm OS licensee; its QDA700 Palm powered smartphone created quite some oomph when it hit the market! The phone has now disappeared into oblivion(silently) – since the company had a small booth at CeBit, I felt like taking a look…

First of all, here are a few pictures of the Qool phone booth:

The press representative informed me that the QDA700 was one of the first products ever sold and developed by Qool Labs. The machine was originally sold in a few European countries, Thailand and Hong Kong, where it sold quite well. However, the machine has now been pulled from all markets except for Hong Kong and Thailand.

Qool Labs has no plans for a successor running Palm OS. The reason for this was cited to be lack of R&D on Palm(Source’s) side, especially lack of support for Bluetooth and WiFi radios. ALP is currently not considered an option for a new device either. So, to cut a long story short, Qool Labs is out of the Palm OS game.
