My guess is that if you use your own Cygwin installation then there are no problems with Vista. The current Cygwin (1.5.24) is compatible with Vista. Anyway replacing make by the mingw one seems to do the trick in case you run an older version of Cygwin. He does not say if he is/was using the Cygwin included with PODS.
