John Wilund’s SrcEdit has been an excellent source code editor for the Palm OS for ages(and has worked well on Treos) – however, John Wilund is now in the process of fixing one of the last bugs still in the product.

The bug occurs only on Treo handhelds and is related to the autocomplete function for brackets. Entering a bracket causes SrcEdit to automatically add the matching closing one – for example, entering ( yields (). However, brackets like [ or { can not be created without entering ( beforehand – and so far, AutoComplete has expanded the () and the user was left with one excess bracket(e.g. [)).

This beta is said to fix the bug by suppressing AutoComplete for all brackets other than ( – if you convert an entered ( to something else, the matching ) is removed automatically.

All of you using SrcEdit on Treo – please get the beta and send your feedback to John Wilund!
