Softick Commander was the first program to bring Bluetooth file transfer to the Palm OS. BFT is very useful for all who own more than one device – it allows your Palm to access the files found on a PocketPC or S60 phone. Resco has provided us with an exclusive preview of Resco Explorer 2008 – and it’s implementation of Bluetooth file transferring:

Connections are established from the Bluetooth menu:
0a Resco Explorer will get Bluetooth file transfer support 0b Resco Explorer will get Bluetooth file transfer support 0c Resco Explorer will get Bluetooth file transfer support

Once a connection is up, it gets added to the “Network” tree right next to FTP/SMB shares. A BT share can be used just like any other drive – here’s an image of my Treo 680 harassing the poor TamsPPC ipaq:
1a Resco Explorer will get Bluetooth file transfer support

In the end, I really look forward to Resco Explorer 2008 – it has the potential to greatly simplify my life(and free my Treo of one application). Congratulations to Resco – and stay tuned for the public release(you’ll hear about it at TamsPalm’s first).
