Sharp had some experience with mobile OSs and pda, their Zaurus handhelds never ceased to amaze me. Sadly they were poorly distributed outside japan, I once had a oportunity to buy one, I still regret not buying it...

The guys at access must have been cooking something over this last years, I doubt that they stayed with their arms crossed waiting for something to happen, this guys have an amazing platform already developed and waiting to be implemented and Sharp has both the expertise and capability to design impressive hardware. This is the logical moment for both to join to the smart phone arena, the iPhone and android have managed to get people interested in smartphones again but this guys at access, they have an app and dev ecosystem already in place, thanks; of course, to palm.
