Palm’s business Treos are firmly in the hands of Windows Mobile now – the last GSM business box has been discontinued silently recently:

While the Centro is likely to remain available for quite some time, I personally fear that this marks the final beginning of the end of the European Palm OS application market. The Centro’s keyboard is way too small to use in many situations – as soon as these Treos break, customers will move to other platforms…

Anyway, what is your problem with the Centro-keyboard? It is small so that makes the box
small. That’s the whole idea!
I’ve upgraded T3>T5>TX>Centro and the keyboard is such a relief from graffiti. You have to exercise to use graffiti sufficently, you also have to exercise a little bit with the Centro-keyboard.
I have large fingers. I use my fingenails but if I just cut em I have to use my fingertips. More difficult but managable (ok, I don’t write novels!). A cellphone keyboard can never replace a pc keyboard!
I can’t post in the shoutbox.
Just orderd a second Treo as spare. I bought way to many applications for Palm OS and there are no real alternatives.
Hollow, if you have never used a Treo keyboard, you would not know the difference. I have gone from the Treo 600, 650, 700, 755 and they all have a much better KB in the same amount of space. Much better laid out with peaks on the buttons so you can feel one button from the ones next to it. Tactile click, not mushy like the Centro. The Centro’s keys are too close together and flatter.
Hi alan,
full ack – but what about customers who have a Treo currently and need a new device?
All the best
