The folks at Palm’s seem to consider a few severe defects features – but we’re not talking about the perpetually-defective power buttons here. Instead, the recent releases from the orange boys have a new habit – cracking cases.
WMExperts reports a raising amount of users with cracked cases on the WM Treo Pro line (which is very similar to the Centro which has similar problems):

As of now, the boys don’t call it an “epidemic failure” – in case you know more, please let them know!

yes we have two treo pro’s and both have developed cracks. Lots of them. Near the ringer volume buttons and more seriuosly near the WiFi buttons. One has had WiFi button cracks that caused a piece of the phone case to fall out. of course palm tell us that we dropped the phones but they only ever are in our pockets, in a leather slip on cover. palm will replace mine but not my wifes. not accaptable to us im afraid. Still we will wait and see how they can help us. If not then we will proabaly commence action to remedy the situation. Not the best way to go for a comapany with a reuptation like Palm. After all I believe its called “customer support” NOT “Palm support”.
Hi,
.
well, that’s Palm for you

Tam,
Your constant attacks and misideas about Palm are becoming very annoying. You are constantly badmouthing them and insinuating about how they are going to fail because of any number of problems you’ve made up (see “2009 from a Palm head’s point of view” as a prime example, along with your last comment) yet you keep recycling news that I see on PreCentral and PalmInfoCenter the day before you post them.
The quality of your posts have steadily slipped over the last year, and that’s why I don’t associate myself with your site anymore. It’s just an unprofessional mess these days with you trying to single-handedly manage, what is it, 7 blogs now? It’s just become a funny joke at this point.

ps. The fact that I had to log in to post this comment because your ridiculous spam plugins (don’t you have three now) refused to let me comment is simply ridiculous too.
Hi Ryan,
thank you so much for your comment!
First of all: the management of the content security has been outsourced for some time – and apparently not for the best. I have now removed all plugins except for Akismet…which means that commenting should work much better now.
Regarding the slowness over the last weeks: I know, and I am sorry. However, the software side of the company has taken much of my attention.
But: we have an energetic new author who is willing to help out. Why don’t you chime in, too?
All the best
Tam Hanna
