Dataviz has recently updated their Word Document editor to version 11.000.

This new version is available for 30$ (standard version) or $50 (premium version)

New features include:

* View tracked changes in word processing files
* Apply and view Styles in word processing files
* View border and wrapped text in spreadsheets
* 10 starter Templates included for creating Word and Excel files

This update brings Documents to Go as the only way to view and edit Word 2007 files, so if you need to use these files on a daily basis, it is a highly recommended piece of software!

  1. Version 10.002: 530 kb in size
    Version 11.000: 1m in size
Two times in size for the above features? Is there something wrong with quality of codes?

  2. Yes, I think there is a problem with the code quality. I just downloaded it and noticed there was 1.09 mb placed on my Palm Tungsten C PDA.

  3. Hello,
I have to admit that these new features are crucial for me – I have missed them since v4 on my old IIIc.

As for size: DocumentsToGo has always been a very fat app – like all office suites. IMHO, its largely the file formats which are to blame…there was a post on that one day at a dev blog but I dont have it handy anymore.

The specs of the file formats are like 500p each…which leads to quite a bit of code.

    All the best

  4. Hi folks,

Yes, the ‘open’ word XML format is quite a mess, just like all microsoft formats…

Office suites that want to support multiple formats really *have* to be gargantuan… It sucks but it’s just a fact of life…

Personally I’m still waiting for ODT support before I will throw in… May never happen but one can dream, no?

  5. Hi Ryan,

I manage an Australian Mobile Phone Network and was hoping you would be open to a link exchange? You can email me at the above address so we can discuss it further if you’d like.

    Thanks,
    Chris

  6. Office 2007 support was already on Docs To Go 10.

  7. Hi J,

well, perhaps then it is the plethora of new templates (most likely stored in the prc?) or something I am missign entirely…

    Chris Hamilton,
I have put you in contact with the site’s owner Tam Hann!

    All the best,
    Ryan

  8. Hi,
I think that the change tracking is one of the features which really made the app fat: every function must be modified to add it…

    All the best
