From our point of view, the discontinuation of new handhelds is a very bad move which will hurt the already struggling Palm OS economy significantly. We cannot see why other manufacturers like HP are highly successful selling their non-smartphone devices, while Palm struggles!

i have same experience from company i am working for. we are dropping palmos support for our application because since palm does only smartphones there is no interest for it from our customers. even old ones which used palmos devices switch to windows mobile because its always more difficult to replace broken devices with new ones. palm made very wrong decision from my point of view
This will put the nail in the coffin for the Palm OS. Our office just went HP windows mobile vice from our former Palm T/X due to non-support for new applications. We are a very large company that basically used Palm since 1999. Too bad as I still own the Tungsten C personally and enjoy it.
It is lamentable. But it seems Palm has decided long ago that they don’t want their PDA-only customers, let’em get an HP pda if they want a pda. They are aiming to phone users.
With this is mind, I don’t expect much from Nova… it’s gonna be a lot of eye candy and facebook stuff for teens..
