Pretty sure a data plan is REQUIRED with the pre anyway. Give them time, they’ll work things out. And considering how minor an upgrade the iPhone3Gs is over its predecessor, palm has some breathing room. (Of course, the $99 pricepoint for the old 3G is a bit troublesome)
