We have covered the World Business Guide Scam some time ago – don’t ask me why, but the jerks still don’t give up (even though they know that I covered them on here some time ago). The email below has just hit my inbox:

Once again: if you get ANY communication from these folks, just delete/destroy it unless it comes from a court in your home country (which has never happened so far). The boys have never sued anyone AFAIK, and are sending these emails out illegally themselves.

They have faxed me an invoice because I didn’t reply to their invoices thru snail mail! Someone in Marketing signed the order to buy from them and I am stuck with incoming invoices. What I would like to know is, is it illegal in Canada? I read the entry on your page about someone in Australia but what about Canada? I appreciate your comments on this.

What do you mean by not destroying it when it comes from a court in your home country ?
I am from the Netherlands and got a website which ends on .com, I suppose that’s why I got the mail also ( I recieved it on my website-email-address as I think they always send it to ).
I didn’t read it because it already felt as a scam to me on forehand so I immediately checked the senders emailaddress out on google,
I don’t think that because of their postal address is in Holland we can start any action against them…if you check the posts on other forums you’ll find out that their reply faxes come from Amsterdam and not from Utrecht, their so called head office is in Malaga, Spain, their bank account is in Hungary and their website is registered in Romania.
In their emails they announce that for EU-memberd there wil no VAT be charged, what makes me think that the “real” company is from outside Europe…

I have received the registration from this guide and unfortunately I have signed it without thinking as I see it is Free Update. I thought it should be an update of data base of yellow page for business company.
Two days later, I founded that it is a mistake by signing this registration then I send the fax to this guide, but the guide did not reply us.
One month after, they send invoice to my company in Cambodia.
I study the case, I knew that this is scam crossing the worldwide. I immediately forward this email to all business company in my business association and the Bar association. I report this case to National Police department.
The guide still send me many invoice, debt collection as well and threat me to pay but I never respond them.
No I am waiting to see this guide come to my place or someone on behalf of World business guide to come in my place in Cambodia. I will arrest them and send to the court – They will be happy to stay in hell.

our company have also received invoice and various reminder letters regarding payment. But, we don’t want to pay any amount because we have got knowledge that WBG is scam and only to cheat the business associations. Can they intitiate legal action against our company for payment????

I am another one victim of W.B.G 2009 scam from Greece. I refused to pay for the first year subscription and few days ago I received an invoice of EUR. 995 from the W.B.G for the second year’s (2010-11) subscription!
At the same time I received a letter from WALDBERG & HIRSCH, CLOBAL COLLECTIONS LTD, AMSTERDAM, NL, asking me to pay EUR. 1429 for the first year’s unpaid subscription or they may commence legal procceedings without further notice! any suggestions you guys?
We are a well established touring company in South Africa who also fell for the scam. I have refused to pay them as per their invoice. Fortunately I am an ex cop and not easily intimidated by their so called debt collection demands. False advertising (free entry and updates) in South Africa is monitered by our advertising standards agency and they have no leg to stand on. The principle “fruits from a poisoned tree” is the issue here. You cannot legitimately claim if your initial action is misleading or illegal. Bring on the threatened court case, I cannot wait. What about a joint class action from all of us against them? philip

Thank you to everyone for highlighting these bunch of crooks, I am been hassled by them now but because of good people like you I have not been intimidated by these people and have told them to take me to court.

These crooks keep pestering me with letters and e-mails, Ive welcomed the opportunity of attending court if they wish to take me and they are ignoring this and just keep persisting with their pointless letters and e-mails, they will not get a single penny out of me unless Im ordered to pay by a British Court Of Law which I think we all know won’t happen. If they also want to send debt collectors to our door again we would be pleased to sort it face to face and with a Police officer in attendance to hopefully arrest these scumbags.
