Germany’s O2 is the only carrier who sells the Palm Pre unlocked – Expansys has taken up the offer:
palm pre gsm Expansys imports GSM Palm Pre to USA

As the box is a “grey import”, expect to live with a QWERTZ rather than a QWERTY keyboard. Furthermore, don’t expect 3G in the USA…and let’s not get started on the insane price.

Feel free to drop your 715$ at the URL below – and don’t complain about the lack of 3G as you have been warned:

  1. Actually, the GSM Pre supports American 3G bands on AT&T. I admire your blog but please get your information right.

  2. I think the worse issue is that you can’t currently change the data access details on it? Must admit I ordered one for UK use with o2 so I should be fine!

  3. Aaron right, 3G was in USA (from AT&T and T-Mobile) for a while, even higher speed in CDMA (EVDO) networks from Verizon. In 2010 Verizon is launching 4G network, which will be e really fast.
As for a Palm, hope they will more stable than my last Treo 700P, which I traded for a Blackberry and did not regret so far.

    Anyway, thanks for the info!
