Else joins the LiMo foundation

Palm OS heads know ELSE Ltd as the creator of the first-ever ALP-powered handset – we expect to have a full hands-on with the Intuition for you on the 16th.

In the mean time, the boys have joined the LiMo Foundation, which is an association of hardware vendors committed to Mobile Linux.

Ra’anana, 11 February 2010 – ELSE Ltd., a design house for state-of-the-art mobile technologies delivering simple and intuitive user experience and a member of the Emblaze Group (LSE:BLZ), today announces it has joined the LiMo Foundation™, a global consortium of mobile industry leaders dedicated to creating the first truly open, hardware-independent, Linux-based operating system for mobile devices.

ELSE Ltd. has recently unveiled its new mobile device, the First ELSE™, powered by ELSE INTUITION™, a new mobile platform jointly developed by ACCESS CO., LTD. and ELSE. Based on ACCESS Linux Platform™ v3.0 the ELSE INTUITION platform provides all the components device manufacturers need to create world-class mobile devices, including a powerful user interface (UI) engine jointly developed by ACCESS and ELSE Ltd., and a comprehensive suite of applications designed by ELSE Ltd., for a complete end-to-end experience.

First ELSE meets the requirements as specified within the first release (R1) of the LiMo Platform. Aligning the ELSE INTUITION with the LiMo Platform specifications ensures that the ELSE INTUITION platform can leverage both the valuable code contributions from a host of innovative companies as well as the strategic directional inputs from the operators and handset manufacturers within the LiMo Foundation. Furthermore, developers developing for the LiMo Platform will equally be able to target the ELSE devices.
