We promised you guys a hands-on preview of the Emblaze Else for today – and, as usual, try to fulfill our promise. We hurried out of our AirBerlin plane, hurried to the Access Co booth…and saw this:

Booth security told us that the event was overfull with journalists, which is why we weren’t able to take a stab at navigating the drunken mess and get our mitts onto an Else.

However, the device is prominently displayed both inside and outside:

Which means that we will have more for you tomorrow…

  1. Actually, the event was by-invitation-only, due to the limited space, food, etc., available; doubtless I could’ve gotten you an invite if you’d asked in advance. In any case, we weren’t really providing ELSE demos during the festivities, I’m afraid.

Hope you were able to make it to the booth today, or failing that, can come by sometime tomorrow (but remember, it’s a short day tomorrow).

The “First ELSE” is well worth the effort needed get some hands-on time.

  2. Hey Hey it’s Lefty. Haven’t heard a peep out of you on the usual site. I can’t say that I blame you. I was hoping that ALP would take off sooner… it looks like the closest mobile OS to what I’m looking for as an end user. I don’t know if you’d be willing/able to answer my question from before. What version of ALP is the ELSE stack sitting on top of? is it the full fledged ALP (with the Garnet VM)? or the ALP mini? or a customized version of ALP?

I know you can’t answer this one, but I’ll try anyway… When can I see it on a CDMA device on the Verizon network?

  3. Hi,
no GHost in the box – only in the SDK.

    Tam

P.S. Managed a hands on – more on that tmrw!
