Hey Tam, Yes I do think they have the money. If you open almost any cell phone you'll see something thats Qualcomm. Would they want to? I'm not sure. It would make sense as would the other companies I mentioned, but I only hear rumors of companies that already have OS' that are doing well.

Maybe Intel could buy them, they've been trying to get into the phone market for a while, I'm not sure if their Atom process or I don't think can compete with ARM processors yet. Sure they're faster, but they're more power hungry. Same with AMD. Nvidia could buy them, they have the Tegra chipset, but AMD and Nvidia I think are doing well enough in the PC market.

I can think of who could or should buy them but who will who knows. I'm pretty sure it won't be Apple.

Hi,
QualComm - it would make sense for them. Their BREW is very, very outdated.

But: do they have the money?

Oh let me add one more company to my list...Qualcomm. They make many of the components for phones already, if they bought Palm then they can make the phones cheaper because of this.

This guy at Motley Fools is a Fool for thinking Apple should buy Palm. It'll NEVER happen. He's saying Apple would buy Palm because its based off WebKit? I can put the same thought into Google buying Palm because when you buy a Pre or Pixi you already have to sign into Gmail, and it uses a lot of Google tools.

I think it would make more sense for HTC or Casio/Hitachi/NEC or Panasonic/Sanyo to buy Palm because they make phones and don't already have an OS. Any of these three companies has the money and would be better off buying Palm than Apple.
