Verizon’s official asking prices for the Pre and Pixi are all but a joke – retailers like Walmart and Amazon have had them for significantly lower rates for quite some time.

Verizon apparently figured that out now, and lowered prices in response:

In a Thursday statement, Verizon spokeswoman Brenda Raney revealed that the price of Pre Plus has been reduced from $150 to $50; while that of Pixi Plus has been slashed from $80 to $30. However, both the devices will be available with two-year Verizon contracts.

Not much to add here…
