Don’t ask me what is wrong at Aceeca’s, but the boys have managed to get quite a bit of a credibility issue when ship dates are concerned. Their Garnet OS-powered PDA32 has been due for “June” – but it, once again, has failed to materialize.
A posting to the palm-dev-forum now reads as following:

Just wanted to share a quick bit of info here:
The Aceeca PDA32 Palm OS Garnet handheld is real — you just can’t buy it quite yet…
I have one sitting on my desk right now for beta testing. My first impressions are that this unit is going to be even better than I was hoping for! There is still some system software work to be polished before it is ready to ship.
I’m not supposed to say anything more about it before the official press release from Aceeca, but I can say that it is real, and it is coming.

As of now, my reps at Aceeca’s have not provided any further information. Stay tuned!

Well June is not quite over yet. Releasing it on the 30th will still qualify, but I’m skeptical that they will given that their CEO is rather quiet of late unlike when they announced it earlier this year.
don’t you understand? They said JUNE, but did they say 2010???
Yeah I pointed that out on the previous article.
Hi,
this is getting mean
Tam
Well, they are down to their last couple of days to release in June for this year…. Maybe your prediction of 2011 might actually hold true.
Hi,
This is all I say here. I am starting to get fed up with the people myself…
With best regards

I take it they’re no longer feeding you info…
Hi,
nope – I am just getting fed up with getting told bullshit.
Tam
Tam,
You had a sample of the MEZ1500 last August and Aceeca still does not have that for sale. So even though there is a beta unit of the PDA32 out there, it could still be some time before we see any production units.

Hi JVB,
I have to admit that I am getting more and more fed up with Aceeca myself – don’t ask me what is going on here.
All the best

As expected, they missed June 2010… 2011, I think, will make them irrelevant.
Hi,
if it really takes them to 2011, I am pretty sure that they are dead by then.
All the best

Tam,
I want to remind you that my email address is atopschij@aceeca.com – which I think you already have as we have corresponded previously. Can I suggest that before you get fed up with us or write us off in your Blog, that you give me a call before you post negative stuff. I will be your most reliable source of up to date information. As a small company we certainly have had some real issues getting these new devices out to the market and I accept we have lost some credibility with our previous target release dates. The PDA32-Garnet is VERY close to shipping (yes we missed June), we have shipped a number to beta testers and have made some enhancements as a result of their feedback. One of the main issues was the sensitivity of the touch panel. It is all looking pretty good now and I can arrange for you to get an eval unit next week – just check with Cecile and she will arrange it. I will provide more info on the MEZ1500 (both Garnet and CE) in due course.
Cheers
Alex.
Hi Alex,
nice to see you read this blog!
I have just reposted your comment in its entity!

Alex, So what’s with the Graffiti 2? How come you didn’t go with the original Graffiti?
Also, on Engadget, you stated that there were numerous improvements (both hardware and software as you clarified to me in the comments there). Comparing to my TX, all I see is a bigger battery and a slightly faster processor from your specs.
Also how are the optional items added? Are they plugable modules? Or are the soldered on at your factory?
Hi Baal,
I can – currently – just say that I see no external add-on slot except for SD.
Stay tuned!

Can you pose the question to Alex about why they went with G2?
Hi Baal,
I think it has to do with Access offering them nothing else.
But I will ask!
