Palm’s Jon Rubinstein has been speaking at the D: Dive Into Mobile conference recently.

One of the panelists asked him whether the Palm name would continue – his answer was short and telling:

Jon: Okay you heard it here first. You know honestly I have no allegiance to it. It has some good connotations, it has some bad.

As of this writing, not much more is known. However, I don’t think that HP will drop the Palm name from the handsets completely – the name still is better than the HP one was…

  1. Rubinstein, sólo se transformó en CEO de Palm para luego negociar la venta a HP. Si bien su aporte a la creación de webOS fue notable; sin embargo sus yerros condenaron a Palm a dejar de ser una empresa independiente.
