Pool Deluxe review

Do you like Pool? If you like Pool, I’m sure you also like DeluxeWare’s PoolDeluxe. You have several game modes:

Quick play: Just adjust some options and play versus a computer opponent or a friend on one palm (no multiplayer via bluetooth or infrared)

Career play: You play on different tables versus different opponents for stakes. If you get more money you are able to play on further tables and versus harder opponents.

Tournament: Play a tournament with the K.O. system with 7 computer opponents

Practice: You play an endless 8 ball game alone.

Statistics: Shows some statistics about your losses and winnings in different game modes and levels:

Settings: Adjust some graphic settings, visualization and sound settings

The Game:

You are able to regulate how hard you batch the white ball, and on which point you hit it. With the touchscreen you roughly set the position of the cue, and with the 5 way navi or the two arrows on the bottom of the screen you do y fine adjustment.

Overall I really like this game! The game does only have 3 (nice) background songs, they get a bit annoying as time passes be. The sounds, when one ball hits another ball sounds good. The graphic is good too for a palm. The only thing I don’t like about PoolDeluxe is that you can’t save your advancement. I think it’s a very good pool game for your Palm powered handheld.

Proporta Alu-Leather Case for Palm Tungsten T5/TX review

There are a lot of leather cases from several distributors on the market. Today, I look at Proporta’s Alu-Leather Case on my Palm TX. It is said to work with the Tungsten T5, too!

The Case is padded all around, and the flipping part is strengthened with an aluminium piece, and it has a beltclip on the back

If the case is open, you see the rail, the dual SD card holder and the headphone cutout. In the flipping part, there are two pockets for credit cards, money etc.

Inserting the TX into the case is a bit hard, but it makes no big problems. When you look at the top, you see a cutout for the headphone jack.

On the bottom, the multiconnector is covered by the case lock.

This case looks quite noble. No matter what you want to do with your Palm, you have to open the case, also when you charge or sync it. To open it is easy and handy with the magnetic lock. It has no cutout for the speaker, and this affects the sound quality a lot! The part which protects the display, is strengthened with aluminium, so that it bears the daily pressure easy. Overall I like this case, and 26.95 pounds are okay.

Cases are usually made out of aluminium and leather. Now I received a Proporta Case out of Magnesium. Magnesium is by 33% lighter than aluminium.

The case looks blue-violet-metallic, and looks nice for me. It has cutouts for speaker, resethole and beltclip on the back.

When you open the case, you see the cardholders and the rail, that holds the Tungsten T|X in place:

Inserting the Palm into the case, is very easy: Just push the rail into the slot, and have fun:

On the top, you see cutouts for the SD-cardslot, the headphonejack, the IR window, the styusslot and the powerbutton. On the bottom there is the Multiconnector:

In use, the case is at the beginning unusual to open, but one gets used to it fast. The IR communication doesn’t always works. The cutout for the speakers, doesn’t change the sound. The case is quite durable and scratchresistant.

Overall I like this case very much. It protects the Palm well from impacts and pressure and doesn’t get in the way of daily use. ProPorta seems to be out of stock currently – visit www.proporta.com and ask for details if you want to recreive such a case.
